Group Medical is now part of a broader network of practices under a new umbrella brand—Local Health. While you may notice some changes to our external signage, and a few of our back-office team members may update their email signatures, there will be no significant changes to daily operations within your practice. Rest assured, our focus remains on delivering the same excellent service to our communities.

We are pleased to announce a new health and wellbeing service as we introduce our Mātanga Whai Ora, Health Improvement Practitioner. 

Nicola Howard is a registered Occupational Therapist and a team member here at Group Medical. She is now offering free appointments to guide and support you on your journey to better health and wellbeing.

How the Health Improvement Practitioner can help you.

• Creating a healthier lifestyle: Explore new eating and exercise routines, learn relaxation skills, and enhance your overall well-being.
• Adjusting to life’s changes: Navigate through health issues, workplace challenges, and cope with changes related to age, gender, disability, spirituality, trauma, sexuality, loss, or grief.
• Building better habits: Address concerns related to alcohol, tobacco, drug use, and other habits affecting your health.
• Improving self-care in challenging situations: Manage emotions effectively, cope with distress, anxiety, low mood, pain, stress, being overwhelmed and even parenting struggles.

This is a free service available to all Group Medical patients.

Nicola offers 30-minute appointments every Wednesday, and drop-ins are usually available.
